Ahead of the 2027 General Elections, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, has declared that there will be no coalition of opposition elements against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for reelection.
He hinged his declaration on the tripod of excellent leadership, good performances, and impactful policy implementation within the past two years by the Federal Government under President Tinubu, adding that these have neutralized the political opposition already.
Wike stated this on Wednesday at the commissioning, by the President, of Arterial Road N16 (Shehu Shagari Way), connecting Ring Road 1 (Nnamdi Azikiwe Way) to Arterial Road N20 (Wole Soyinka Way), along with accompanying interchanges and feeder roads in Maitama District, Abuja.
theheralnews.ng reports that, among numerous others, the Arterial Road N16 was successfully executed by the Wike-led FCT Administration.
Specifically, he expressed appreciation to the President for providing the opportunity to serve the government and people of the nation through his position at the FCT.
“Mr. President, we want to thank you for the opportunity to be part of the revolution that is going on,” he said.
Wike also took swipes at some opposition elements who recently declared plans to form a political coalition with the sole purpose of preventing a second term of office for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
“I didn’t know that people can be pained but now that I know that some people are pained, my duty now is to continue to give them high blood pressure (as e dey pain dem, e go dey sweet us; as dey sweet us, e go dey pain dem) that’s my job, that’s my business. I will be happy, moving and laughing, they will be there fighting and shouting and killing themselves.
“Mr. President, your good works have killed coalition. I was thinking that truly there will be coalition. But when they see what’s happening every day, they are pained.
“And I have told my people to make sure that every national television must hook in so that if they tune to TVC they are watching Mr. President, if they go to ChannelsTV its Mr. President, if they change to NTA its Mr. President and even the one that I don’t watch, AriseTV it will be Mr. President. So, they have no choice, they must watch it for seventeen days, there’s nothing they can do about it,” the Minister added.
President Tinubu commended Wike for his dedication and collaborative approach to governance and urged the people of the FCT to protect the infrastructure and make use of it wisely.
