Wife of Kogi State Governor, Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo has officially launched the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Agriculture Support Program aimed at empowering women and youth in the agricultural sector.
The program also introduces impactful schemes such as Every Home a Garden, Young Farmers Clubs and targeted support for female students in agricultural studies.
Speaking at the event, the First Lady expressed her fulfillment in encouraging young people and supporting them with vital farm inputs to boost food production across Kogi State.
She emphasized that the launch was not just about the symbolic handover of tools but involved the strategic distribution of agrochemicals, fertilizers, and other essential resources designed to transform agriculture in the state.
She further revealed that her office will soon open a data portal to register all female agricultural students across tertiary institutions in the state.
“Agriculture is our new oil and the backbone of our economy. Now is the time to power our prosperity through agriculture—starting with you. That’s why we are providing farm tools, agrochemicals and financial support to increase productivity, create wealth, and ensure no one is left behind,” she said, adding that the program is a clear demonstration of women inclusion in action and firsthand experience.
Hajia Sefinat also expressed deep appreciation to the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her unwavering support and encouragement in empowering the less privileged.
She congratulated all beneficiaries and encouraged them to make the best use of the opportunity to improve food security and contribute to a more sustainable future for their communities.
