Nigerian star Ademola Lookman, crowned African Player of the Year, is on the verge of a blockbuster summer transfer to Inter Milan after reportedly agreeing to personal terms with the Serie A giants.
The 27-year-old Atalanta forward has caught the eye of the Nerazzurri, who are eager to bolster their attack after parting ways with Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic.
Inter have made Lookman their top target, but the deal hinges on negotiations with Atalanta, who are holding firm for a €50 million fee. They are pushing to secure the deal for closer to €40 million and are ready to table a direct offer without needing to sell key players to fund the transfer.
Lookman’s remarkable performance in 2024/25 season has fueled the hype around him. The forward netted 15 goals and dished out 5 assists, playing a pivotal role in Atalanta’s third-place finish in Serie A and their qualification for the Champions League. His flair and consistency have cemented his status as one of Italy’s hottest talents.
While Lookman and Inter have sorted out personal terms, the transfer is not a done deal yet. Both clubs still need to iron out the final fee before the Nigerian star can put on the iconic blue and black stripes.
