A UK-registered skincare company, Huked Limited, founded by Nigerian entrepreneur, Uchechi Osuchukwu has been nominated for the 2025 Prestige Awards in recognition of its commitment to ethical sourcing, community empowerment, and excellence in natural beauty formulations.
The Prestige Awards celebrate small and medium-sized businesses across the UK that demonstrate innovation, service quality, sustainability, and positive community impact. Huked’s nomination places it among standout UK brands being recognised for making a difference both locally and globally.
What sets Huked apart is its unique sourcing model. The brand directly partners with female traders and producers in Nigeria, Ghana, and across West Africa, sourcing raw ingredients like shea butter, palm kernel oil, and baobab oil directly from the source through its initiative, WaBiaZo Female Entrepreneurs (WFE).
“We don’t buy unless we see how it’s made,” said founder Uchechi Osuchukwu.
“We work directly with the women behind the ingredients, so we know the story, the struggle, and the strength that goes into every product. Our work is about protecting the health of British consumers — and preserving the dignity of African women.”
In a global industry flooded with chemically preserved and diluted “natural” products, Huked stands out for its 100% waterless, preservative-free formulations.
The brand recently completed an unreleased documentary on its ingredient sourcing journey, filmed across Kwara and Niger States, which will be aired on major media platforms in Nigeria and West Africa.
The brand also extended its gratitude to its logistics provider, Simple Omolara (SO Logistics), The amazing women behind WFE, and on-ground sourcing agent Bolaji Bello, who has travelled into conflict-affected and hard-to-reach areas across Nigeria to ensure that Huked’s ingredients are pure, ethically sourced, and traceable.
“Our team goes where others won’t — because we believe every customer deserves to know exactly what’s in their skincare,” Uchechi said.
With over 1,000 positive reviews on eBay UK and expansion across TikTok, Etsy, Amazon, and its own website, Huked is fast becoming a trusted name in ethical skincare.
The nomination has been widely celebrated among WFE members in Nigeria, who see the recognition as proof that local trade — when supported with fairness and transparency — can be globally respected.
“This is not just a nomination for Huked — it’s a spotlight on African women who have been ignored for too long,” Uchechi added.
The brand continues to push for global awareness about the true origins of African ingredients and the need for fairer trade practices in beauty and wellness industries.
