The armed attack on worshippers at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area, has drawn strong condemnation from civil society groups in Kwara State.
In a statement released Wednesday, the Gamji Members Association (GAMA) described the assault as “an assault on humanity,” warning that targeting citizens in their homes and places of worship is unacceptable.
GAMA’s President-General, Alhaji Mohammed Tunde Akanbi, and Director of Administration, Alhaji Abdullahi Yusuf, praised the state government’s rapid response, noting that prompt coordination with security agencies demonstrates a proactive approach to protecting residents.
The group stressed that collaboration between communities, traditional leaders, and authorities is essential in confronting criminal threats.

Similarly, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Kwara State chapter, condemned the attack in a statement by its Director of Media and Documentation, Alhaji Abdullahi Olesin.
The forum emphasised that assaults on places of worship undermine communal harmony and human dignity.
It also welcomed the federal deployment of 900 additional troops to reinforce security and called on residents across all faiths to reject violence.
Both GAMA and ACF urged citizens to remain calm, cooperate with security authorities, and recognise that maintaining peace in Kwara is a shared responsibility that requires vigilance, solidarity, and active community engagement.
