Nigerian Air Force on Wednesday said its Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai has carried out decisive airstrikes on Arra, a well-known terrorist base within the Sambisa Forest.
The strikes were conducted following a directive from the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, according to a statement issued in Abuja by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
Ejodame said the operation was informed by intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions that tracked terrorist movements linked to the October 17 ambush at Kashomri.
He explained that sustained surveillance over Kashomri and Sambisa revealed suspicious activity and active terrorist structures at Arra, prompting the coordinated attack.
NAF aircraft, he said, engaged all designated targets through successive, well-coordinated strike runs, resulting in the destruction of identified locations and a significant degradation of the terrorists’ operational capability, command structure, and logistics.
Ejodame added that the mission underscores the Air Force’s commitment to supporting ground forces, neutralising threats, and defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity across all theatres of operation.
