Effective from the 26th of May, famed Italian tactician Carlo Ancelotti will take charge as Brazil’s new Head Coach.
Besides being the first foreigner to be appointed head coach of the most successful national team in history, popular football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano said Ancelotti will become one of the best paid managers in the world on May 26.
Reports indicate that the Brazilian football federation expedited negotiations with Real Madrid and Ancelotti in order to ensure the 65-year-old Italian will be in charge of Brazil’s World Cup qualifying matches against Paraguay and Ecuador in June.
The Brazilian football federation (CBF) said in a statement that the emergence of the new coach marks a “landmark moment of the coming together of two icons” in apparent reference to the Seleção’s unrivalled five World Cup triumphs and Carlo Ancelotti’s historic achievements in European football.
Ancelotti, who will take office as the fifth head coach of Brazil in two-and-a-half years since the dismissal of Dorival Junior at the end of March, is expected to bid farewell to Real Madrid’s Bernabeu for the final time the day after their last game of the LaLiga season against Real Sociedad.
Fabrizio Romano also disclosed that Real Madrid have signed 43-year-old Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso as replacement for Ancelotti on a three years contract.
