The South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA) has reiterated its full support for President Bola Tinubu’s financial, fiscal and economic reforms.
The group also pledged its backing for the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun.
SWAGA made this known in a statement issued by its National Secretary, Mr Bosun Oladele, on Monday in Lagos.
Oladele stressed that SWAGA would not engage in destructive criticism of a government it actively supported to emerge.
Oladele, a former federal lawmaker and ex-Commissioner for Information in Oyo State, said the group fully endorsed Tinubu’s fiscal and economic measures.
He said: “We, as a group, support the reforms President Tinubu has introduced in taxation, economy, finance and fiscal policies.”
According to him, the group is proud that the leadership qualities it identified in Tinubu are being validated through his current reforms.
He added that the Naira was now stable, while debt servicing had dropped from 90 per cent of revenue to 50 per cent.
Oladele noted that foreign reserves had climbed to $41 billion, while the 2025 revenue target was met as early as August.
He further stated that Nigeria’s foreign policy had been repositioned to attract increased investment inflows into the country.
“SWAGA is convinced that Nigeria’s finances and economy are in safe hands. We have, therefore, launched our second mobilisation phase, tagged SWAGA 2.0,” he said.
Oladele stressed that the President was leading a capable team and steering Nigeria toward sustainable growth and development under his renewed hope agenda.
