Lagos-based cybersecurity expert, Oyetunde Yunus, popularly known as Coy Emerald, has once again earned global recognition as Apple lists him in its prestigious 2025 Hall of Fame for Security Researchers.
Coy Emerald, hails from Offa, Kwara State, remains the first Nigerian acknowledged by the world’s largest tech company.
For the fifth consecutive year, Oyetunde has been recognized by Apple for his contributions to cybersecurity, further cementing his status as one of the leading ethical hackers globally.
Announcing the recognition on his official Facebook page, he wrote: “Apple just published the 2025 list of the #ethicalhackers who have helped them in protecting their users of over 2.2 billion active devices around the world.
“And I’m proud to still be the first #Nigerian to be listed in this 2025 Hall of Fame. #Alhamdulillah, and I also thank Apple for the #bounty!”
Oyetunde, the founder of O-range Ethical Hacking Class, has consistently demonstrated exceptional skill in identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities, earning him recognition from tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, Branch, and DROOM.
The Offa Descendants’ Union (ODU), led by Alhaji Muhydeen Olaniyi Azeez-Salako, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Yunus Oyetunde for his remarkable achievement.
In a statement signed by Comrade Taofeek Olalekan Olaosebikan, ODU National PRO, the union lauded Oyetunde’s contributions to cybersecurity, describing his recognition as a proud moment for Offa, Kwara State, and Nigeria.
“ODU commends Oyetunde as an accomplished technology professional whose hard work and dedication have brought immense pride to his family, Offa community, Kwara State, and the entire nation. This recognition by Apple is a testament to his commitment to securing digital platforms and protecting users worldwide.”
The union encouraged him to keep excelling and wished him continued success in his professional journey.
