The Kwara State monthly environmental sanitation exercise is holding on Saturday between 7am and 10am.
However, verified candidates for the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be permitted to attend their examination in line with the directive from the commission.
The state Commissioner for Environment, Hajia Nafisat Musa Buge, made the clarification in a statement issued in Ilorin and made available to The Herald, Friday.
Buge, in the statement issued through the Press Secretary of the ministry, Shakirat Muritala, instructed environmental officers and security personnel to allow TESCOM job applicants, with verified invitations, move to their CBT examination venues.
The statement added that workers on essential duties and those handling emergencies are permitted to carry out their responsibilities as necessary.
It advised members of the public to carry a valid means of identification to facilitate smooth movement to designated examination centres.
The statement urged residents to participate actively in the sanitation to ensure a cleaner and healthier environment.
It noted that waste management trucks would be provided for waste collection and proper disposal at government-approved dump sites.
However, the commissioner, in the statement, reminded the residents that dumping refuse on pedestrian walkways, roadsides, drainages, canals, and other unapproved locations is a punishable under the state environmental laws.
