Alhaji Salihu Woru-Muhammed, the Magaji Nda of Ilorin and former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Herald Newspapers, has commended the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Alh (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, for the appointment of the new Chief Imam of Ilorin, describing the decision as a product of wisdom, patience and sound judgment.
The Magaji Nda of Ilorin made the commendation on Monday during a courtesy visit to Herald Newspapers in Ilorin, where he was received by the General Manager, Mr. Yomi Adeboye, alongside other management staff of the corporation.
He said the Emir demonstrated uncommon wisdom in the process that led to the appointment, noting that although some people had complained that the selection was taking longer than expected, the monarch took his time to ensure that the most suitable person emerged as the new Chief Imam.
According to him, the Emir is “an encyclopedia of knowledge,” whose depth of understanding and foresight enabled him to carefully identify the rightful person for the highly revered religious office.
Alhaji Woru-Muhammed said the sermons of the new Chief Imam, Sheikh Bashir Mohammed Solihu, have already made a positive impact on the Muslim community, adding that many worshippers believe they reflect a reawakening of the era of the new Chief Imam’s predecessor through his style of delivery, voice and inspiring messages.
He expressed confidence that the new Chief Imam would continue to promote peace, unity, sound Islamic teachings and moral values within and beyond the Ilorin Emirate.
The Magaji Nda of Ilorin prayed that Allah would continue to guide and strengthen the Emir of Ilorin and the Chief Imam as they provide religious and traditional leadership for the benefit of the people.
