Alhaji Salihu Woru-Muhammed, the Magaji Nda of Ilorin and former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Herald Newspapers, has commended President Bola Tinubu and security agencies for the successful rescue of kidnapped persons in Oyo State, describing the operation as a demonstration of effective collaboration among the nation’s security institutions.
Alhaji Woru-Muhammed gave the commendation on Monday during a courtesy visit to Herald Newspapers in Ilorin, where he was received by the General Manager, Mr. Yomi Adeboye, alongside other management staff of the corporation.
The former police officer said the successful operation reflected the commitment of the Federal Government to tackling insecurity, noting that such achievements were only possible through synergy among security agencies, government authorities and members of the public.
Drawing from his experience in the Nigeria Police Force, Alhaji Woru-Muhammed said he understood the painstaking planning, intelligence gathering and operational coordination required to secure the safe release of kidnap victims.
He commended President Tinubu for providing the necessary leadership and support for security agencies, while applauding the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services and other security operatives involved in the operation.
The Magaji Nda of Ilorin also acknowledged the contributions of local communities and patriotic citizens whose timely information and cooperation, he said, remained indispensable to intelligence gathering and the fight against crime.
He stressed that the rescue of the victims should further strengthen public confidence in Nigeria’s security architecture and urged Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible and timely information capable of preventing criminal activities.
According to him, sustained cooperation between government, security agencies and citizens remains the most effective strategy for addressing insecurity and ensuring lasting peace across the country.
