Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s wife, Dame Patience Jonathan, has declared her full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the bid for re-election in 2027.
theheraldnews.ng reports that this declaration negates rife insinuations on some media platforms that attempts were being made to draft Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to re-contest under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the next general elections.
The former First Lady promised that she will campaign alongside the incumbent President’s wife Senator Oluremi Tinubu when it is time to do so for the 2027 general elections, adding that she supports the principle of rotational leadership as the best model for Nigeria’s national unity.
Speaking after receiving the Women Icon Leader of the Year Award from Accolade Dynamics Limited in Abuja on Saturday night where she acknowledged the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, Dame Patience Jonathan noted, “I was supposed to call her first, but I saved her for last: the daughter of our wonderful President, the President of Nigeria, the one and only we believe in – President Bola Tinubu.
“Iyaloja, thank you for standing with women because these are your women. Carry them along; they are with you.
“All the way, we are with you. No shaking. We will follow. Direct us, and we will follow.”
